واذ قال موسى لقومه. تفسير: (وإذ قال موسى لقومه إن الله يأمركم أن تذبحوا بقرة)

This is Allah's grace and favour " without which no one's efforts can be meaningful and productive he becomes temperamentally perverse accordingly and the course of his action and effort goes on becoming crooked until at last the capability to do and accept good in him is gradually lost and destroyed
Now it is for every man and for every group of men to decide whether he or it wants to obey their Lord, or not, and whether he or it chooses the right way for it or one of the crooked ways English - Sahih International : And [mention O Muhammad] when Moses said to his people "O my people remember the favor of Allah upon you when He appointed among you prophets and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the worlds• " This is the meaning of the words: "Allah does not guide the transgressors

هذا هو الردّ المناسب عليهم : { وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ بِاتِّخَاذِكُمُ الْعِجْلَ فَتُوبُوا...} .

For a considerable period they were the greatest rulers of the civilized world, reigning supreme in Egypt and the surrounding territories.

تفسير: (وإذ قال موسى لقومه إن الله يأمركم أن تذبحوا بقرة)
trial, for which man has been granted the freedom of choice in the world
هذا هو الردّ المناسب عليهم : { وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ بِاتِّخَاذِكُمُ الْعِجْلَ فَتُوبُوا...} .
If somebody chooses the way of obedience and guidance, AIIah does not push him forcibly towards deviation and disobedience; and if somebody is resolved to follow disobedience instead of the way of righteousness, it is not Allah's way to make him adopt the way of obedience and guidance forcibly
هذا هو الردّ المناسب عليهم : { وَإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِقَوْمِهِ يَا قَوْمِ إِنَّكُمْ ظَلَمْتُمْ أَنْفُسَكُمْ بِاتِّخَاذِكُمُ الْعِجْلَ فَتُوبُوا...} .
There is no compulsion from Allah in this choice

Moreover, from the time of Joseph they were able to achieve very considerable power and authority in Egypt The Qur'an, however, states categorically that the truly glorious period of their history had passed long before Moses, and that Moses himself drew the attention of his people to that period as their time of glory

تفسير: (وإذ قال موسى لقومه إن الله يأمركم أن تذبحوا بقرة)

People are generally inclined to regard the time of Moses as the starting point for the rise of the Israelites.

وإذ قال موسى لقومه يا قوم لم تؤذونني وقد تعلمون أني رسول الله إليكم
Swahili - Al-Barwani : Na Musa alipo waambia watu wake Enyi watu wangu Kwa nini mnaniudhi nanyi mnajua kuwa hakika mimi ni Mtume wa Mwenyezi Mungu niliye tumwa kwenu Walipo potoka Mwenyezi Mungu aliziachia nyoyo zao zipotoke Na Mwenyezi Mungu hawaongoi watu wapotovu• Melayu - Basmeih : Dan ingatkanlah mereka wahai Muhammad ketika Nabi Musa berkata kepada kaumnya "Wahai kaumku Kenanglah nikmat Allah Yang diberikan kepada kamu ketika Ia menjadikan dalam kalangan kamu beberapa orang Nabi dan Ia menjadikan kamu bebas merdeka setelah kamu diperhamba oleh Firaun dan orangorangnya dan Ia memberikan kepada kamu barang yang tidak pernah diberikan kepada seseorang pun dari umatumat yang ada pada masa itu"• For if a man adopts righteousness through such guidance, there is no reason why he should be entitled to any reward whatever
[28] من قوله تعالى: قال موسى الآية 67 إلى قوله تعالى: وما كادوا الآية 71.
This refers to the glory the Israelites enjoyed before the time of Moses
وإذ قال موسى لقومه يا قوم!
There had appeared among them such great Prophets as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph
Maka tatkala mereka berpaling maksudnya menyimpang dari kebenaran, karena mereka telah menyakitinya Allah memalingkan hati mereka dari jalan petunjuk, sesuai dengan apa yang telah ditetapkan-Nya di zaman azali dan Allah tiada memberi petunjuk kepada kaum yang fasik yakni orang-orang yang kafir, menurut ilmu dan pengetahuan-Nya
Melayu - Basmeih : Dan ingatlah peristiwa ketika Nabi Musa berkata kepada kaumnya " Wahai kaumku Mengapa kamu menyakiti daku sedang kamu mengetahui bahawa sesungguhnya aku ini Pesuruh Allah kepada kamu" Maka ketika mereka menyeleweng dari kebenaran yang mereka sedia mengetahuinya Allah selewengkan hati mereka dari mendapat hidayah petunjuk; dan sememangnya Allah tidak memberi hidayah petunjuk kepada kaum yang fasik derhaka• This is what is meant by, when they adopted perverseness, Allah caused their hearts to become perverse Here, allusion to these events is meant to warn the Muslims that they should not adopt the same attitude towards their Prophet as the Israelites had adopted towards their Prophet: otherwise they would meet the same fate as was met by the Israelites

وإذ قال موسى لقومه يا قوم!

mereka mengatakan bahwa Nabi Musa itu orang yang besar buah pelirnya atau berpenyakit burut, padahal kenyataannya tidaklah demikian, dan mereka pun mendustakannya padahal sesungguhnya lafal qad di sini menunjukkan makna tahqiq kalian mengetahui, bahwa aku adalah utusan Allah kepada kalian.

وإذ قال موسى لقومه يا قوم اذكروا نعمة الله عليكم إذ جعل فيكم أنبياء وجعلكم ملوكا وآتاكم ما لم يؤت أحدا من العالمين
" In this state it is against the law of Allah that the one who wants to adopt deviation, and is actively and earnestly engaged in seeking it, and is expending aII one's thought and energy to move futher and further on towards it, should be forcibly turned towards guidance, for such an action would negate the object of the test and
وإذ قال موسى لقومه يا قوم اذكروا نعمة الله عليكم إذ جعل فيكم أنبياء وجعلكم ملوكا وآتاكم ما لم يؤت أحدا من العالمين
But this also is the truth that the person who chooses a particular way for himself, cannot follow it practically unless AIIah provides for him the ways and means and creates for him the conditions which are necessary for following it
وإذ قال موسى لقومه يا قوم لم تؤذونني وقد تعلمون أني رسول الله إليكم
" That is, Allah dces not grant the favour of adopting the way of obedience to those, who have chosen the way of sin and disobedience for themselves of their own free will
